This statement mentions the cine lenses only which may not be that exciting.

Another note:

Zeiss increased its revenues to 2.98 bio EUR in the last FY (43% up). EBIT: 423 mio EUR.

The Optics department has just a share of 312mio EUR though (3% up).

Incidentally, I'm just on my way out to pick up a Carl Zeiss webcam from Logitech (this time I'm serious!)

I guess we'll see the first lenses when the GH2 hits the markets. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

I must admit I am pleasantly surprised.

Could be, but GH cameras are much more abundant so my guess is probably both. After all, the AF100 was only recently announced and developing a mount takes time.

Do the cine lenses have electronic communication with the camera? It looks like an awful lot of mechanical stuff around it for manual control. So if not, a mechanical mount is relatively easy to implement and could be done pretty quickly.

Edit: I had a look at the brochures on Zeiss' site on the CP series lenses. They even give you instructions on how to change the mount if you want to go between different systems. Looks like they're fully manual, in which case is this any better than using for example a CaNikon mount version with high quality mechanical mount adapter to camera?

Sigma and Schneider-Kreuznach are also developing lenses for the m4/3 mount. At least they said they would.
