Hi,

quoting myself -- I tried both lenses on a Canon 60D (APS-C) at a focal length of 12 mm and f/4. The 11-16 lens has apparently pretty strong field curvature.

In the attached image, the upper part is the upper half frame shot with the 11-16 mm lens (@ 12 mm, f/4) whereas the lower part is the corresponding half frame from the 12-24 lens (also @ 12 mm, f/4).

The second image compares the edge details.

According to the tests http://www.opticallimits.com/canon-eos/3...on?start=1 and http://www.opticallimits.com/canon-eos/2...ew?start=1 the 11-16 lens should show less FC compared to the 12-24 lens (although the test was made with the older 12-24 lens where I compared with the new 12-24 II lens).

Did anyone experience similar problems with the 11-16 lens? -- did I get a bad 11-16mm lens or is just that bad by design?
