Still, just as BC said, it comes down to personal preferences. If focus breathing bothers someone, it's a valid point not to buy a certain lens. Personally, I really don't mind, since the magnification of the lens close up (where image widening is worst) is still more than enough for my kind of usage.
On the other hand (to get back to the inital topic) the poor bokeh of the Sigma 24-70 HSM would always make me choose the Nikkor 24-70 instead (or, in my case, the Nikkor 28-70).
