I have had or have now 16-50mm DA* (twice), 50-135mm DA* and the 60-250mm DA*, and the SDM focusing motors haven't failed so far, and I've used them extensively. So for me at least, they've worked very well.



Also, I have only had Sigmas that are in spec and haven't failed. My 105mm also took a high fall with the K10D with vertical grip attached mounted to a camera, and continued working only with a filter ring dented <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> So I guess I'm lucky when it comes to lenses.
