Leica M mount lenses (sub 1000$/EUR)

Thanks for the feedback, Marco.

I've read here and there that the bokeh is a bit of a problem with the 40/1.4. I'm also slightly concerned about the "effective" focal length (60mm f/2) which seems a little short. However, the speed is certainly fine as is the price tag. It's probably pushing sanity to consider something like the 50/1.1.

Yes maybe there are better lenses but the lens is really small and affordable. Here a really good example for "bad" bokeh. But if you look at the other last samples in my photostream it is mostly ok. The images are done with ufraw(dcraw) and mostly I don't sharpen them or do noise reduction at all.

I like the angle of the lens. It is working well for indoor people shoots. For me the combination of 16mm, 24mm and 40mm works. The 24 mm could be smaller because together with the A-Mount adapter it is to big. So a 24/2(.8) mm pancake would be really nice. ;-)

Are there any "special" ones out there ?
I don't want to tell fearing that the prices for those lenses might suddenly go up after you test them <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

They might as well go down if they have been hyped by fanboys before <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

It's not a M-mount lens, but did you consider the Minolta MC 58/1.2? It's supposed to have a very nice bokeh.

That might be a business model!

First bash them. Then people sell them for small bucks in the bay ... we buy them ... and thereafter we say ... Oh, wait a sec ... we mixed up the charts.
