Hi,
I was wondering whether you can force a Sony NEX into enlarged focus view e.g. if you've attached a non-NEX/Alpha lens via adapter.
This is possible on most Live-View DSLRs as well as Pana Gx. I think it is not possible on the Samsung NX for instance.

Use the second soft button where you you can choose 7x and 14x. Its is really easy and better as the approach with NEX lenses. I really like it for my Noktor 40/1.4

Can you share your experiences with wide and short telephotolenses with us? Maybe I'm adapting my CZ 85/14 but I'm unsure that it is to big. Maybe I buy some more Voiglaender lenses. MF is so much more easy for me with the NEX as with the A700.

Well, so far we've only tested the Zeiss ZM 50mm f/2 here (on micro-4/3). It should be a very fine lens on the NEX as well.
I reckon the most interesting lens is the Voigtlander 12mm f/5.6 II - tempting. It seems to perform fine on MFT based on some comments out there.
I guess we'll have test more M-mount lenses from now on ...

There are rumours that NEX fares better with wide angle lenses as MFTs. It would be interesting if this true. The 12 mm sounds very interesting. ;-)

It does always depend on the specific design. The Sony 16mm f/2.8 is a bad example for instance.

But the 16 mm costs only 100 Euro if you buy it in the kit. For me it is only really bad in the extreme corners but mostly looks better than the LX3. I compare the NEX-5 with the LX3 because the are serving me for the same purpose.

Well, my personal opinion on this is that they shouldn't release such a lens if it does not perform according to its nature. A prime lens must have advantages over a zoom lens after all. Heck, Sony has released a wide-angle converter for it and I don't really want to imagine the performance level of this combo!

I think small physical size has value too. For this class of camera, I would take a small lens that is mediocre in performance over a big lens that is optically excellent. A big lens takes away a lot of the value of a small body. Of course I'd like a small and excellent quality lens, as long as the price isn't too bad...
