Would be fun to see a PhotoZone review of the new 85mm f2.8 on the NEX, perhaps with a modest update some day if Sony gets the autofocus working. The 85mm f2.8 fits within the logic Klaus has mentioned elsewhere to perhaps give priority to reviews of small, light lenses for the Nex. Might be a wonderful kit, the Tokina 11-16 f2.8 zoom plus the 85mm f2.8, with a Nex 5 body and a 6 US dollar infrared remote from Ebay.
Ok, am confessing to having an irresistible personal interest in the 85mm f2.8 as my next purchase the moment it's available, if the 'Zone confirms its potential to be a superb lens of modest ambition.

Let's say this is 90% valid or so.

Well, the Zeiss 24/2 is already available in some markets. This is actually old news. :-)

One thing that is weird is that these 2 new lenses would be really nice compact lens focal length additions to the NEX system (NEX 16/2.8 + DT 35/1.8 + 85/2.8 would be a sweet triplet) ... except the α adapter for NEX mount (what the heck is the mount called?) doesn't support AF of α lenses?

Someone from Sony is paying attention:

"Sony has announced a firmware update for its NEX-3 and NEX-5 [...] allowing autofocus using the 14 Sony SAM and SSM lenses with built-in focus motors."
Too logical of an update for once.
Makes for an interesting battle of 3 small primes between μFT Panasonic and E-Mount NEX:
μFT: 14mm f/2.5 + 20mm f/1.7 + 45mm f/2.8 Macro
vs.
E: 16mm f/2.8 + 35mm f/1.8 + 85mm f/2.8
μFT has more bodies to choose from, but NEX has the DOF advantage of the larger sensor and will for sure add more body styles soon (it's SONY after all...must be killing them to not have umpteen slightly different NEX bodies!!). NEX has cheaper lenses, but the α-adapter is expensive. NEX is better for legacy lens (i.e. 12mm or 15mm lens is still wide-ish on E-mount).
For me, NEX is more appealing. Except for the dumbed-down current bodies. I love the GH-2 with the EVF.
