In fact it was published as a classified ad on yahoo, the seller was asking little money, so it seems more like a stolen or found item.
So most likely it was a real prototype unless it was all set up by Sony which seems unlikely

Those zoom and focus rings do look fake though. As if printed via a 3D printer.

No, I think, Sony wants to make a bit extra money for their R&D. Prototypes are not cheap Big Grin

If it's hollow inside, it could make a good "techno" looking flower vase. Smile

SONY 200-600 along with Sony 600mmf4 are almost official now, so no it is not fake
