Thanks for the nice Sunday breakfast review Klaus ............

.......It sure is a great little bang for buck lens ...... and nicely made ..... with great flare resistance ........ how do they do it for $200?

btw.

is quite good albeit it's, of course, not without flaws ... should read ....... quite good albeit of course, not without flaws

"albeit" has already the verb "to be" within it ..... adding "it's" (the verb "to be") again is not needed.

it's a tricky one !!

It took many years for me to realise that "albeit" a contraction of "all be it" is. A disconnect between hearing and reading english.

How would you compare it to the Samyang 12mm f/2?

My idea of "quite good" may be a bit different from this...

... But hey, it's a nice "left field" review. If I had been actively using E mount I would've gone for the Sony 10-18 but still...

I reckon it is a question of how you look at this - the peak performance is roughly on par with the Touit and the Sony 10-18mm.
And I didn't say excellent nor very good anyway ... ;-)

Is the native Sony option (16mm plus wide converter giving you 12mmf2.8) that bad it isn't even mentioned, the combo was reviewed her at PZ.
Despite owning the combo, I used it once and that was the first week I bought it.

Yes, catastrophic performance.

I get it - compared to that the 7A is a monster. Smile
