RF and EF 17-70mm f3.5-5.6 2020 patent applications
#1
Canon has designed lens designs for EF 16-60mm f3.5-5.6 / EF 17-70mm f3.5-5.6 / RF 17-70mm f3.5-5.6 optics.

The focal ranges might sound like APS-C lenses, but the image height mentioned (21.64mm) is used for FF designs (sounds odd, but it is that way).

They make for some very interesting kit lenses, with very serious wide angle.

A FF 17-70 would be an amazing, unique travel lens IMO.
If they release such a RF lens, I'd seriously consider buying into Canon RF.

A compact and lightweight f RF17-70f3.5-5.6 would be the lens I was asking for since I got RP, that would be a move in the right direction from Canon
However checking those news :

Canon is developping a crop sensor EOSR so logically those lenses would go to the crop sensor body...nothing interesting...

Did you actually READ what I wrote, Toni-b? The patents STATE that they are for FF (citing the image height they always cite with FF designs. So, yes, very different (so maybe interesting, depending on the person) FF lens patents.
