Weird they have 35 40 50mm serie SE what's the point of having
35 and 40mm ???
BTW they have nothing between 21 and 35 mm in the other serie as well

As far as I can tell, the 40 and 50 share the optical design with the non-SE series.
The 35 has the same design as the 35mm f/1.2 III VM
The SEs are more light-weight and quite a bit more affordable.
It makes me wonder whether SE=plastic...

Nobody is supposed to buy all three (or even two of them), but each of the focal lengths has its fans. So there's a little bit for everyone. Smile

Except for me, they all have the wrong mount :-(

Are you on Canon RF now?

I prefer the OVF, so won't trade my 6D for RF mount any time soon. And I have EF-M.

So, no RF for me. Even if I would not prefer OVF, the funds needed for EOS R + 50mm f1.2 + 35mm f1.8 + standard zoom and then just adapting the rest, lack.

Not sure if its the "new" or "old" version, but Lenstip has tested a 50/1.2.

https://www.lenstip.com/index.php?test=o...est_ob=582

In a nutshell: very soft at the widest apertures, but improves so rapidly on stopping down that a resolution record is broken at f/4. I think there had been another Voigtländer lens that already did just that...

Woah, something really is off with that lens, perhaps that explains the bad wide open performance.

This image shows something is weirdly wrong:

Wide open. There are two gothic windows in the center of the image. Look at them at 100%, and marvel at the really bad lateral CA... in the CENTER of the image. That is not how lenses are supposed to work.

Huuuh, freakish ...

Albeit I've to say that many Voigtlanders are somewhat overrated. You feel the mechanical quality and are carried away.
The APO-Lanthars are as awesome as it gets but the standard lineup is a hit and miss I think.
