Sigma doesn't stop releasing new lenses.
Wide(er) rage of the focal length seems to be in fashion lately...
I would like to see which producer will release 70-200 f4 first to compete with Sony. No takers so far.

As an owner of a 16-28f2.8 I would say its range is rather narrow.
The funny thing when Tokina released a 16-28 everyone complained of narrow DOF now Sigma gets applause however I expect the Sigma to be rather compact instead of bg and heavy with protruding front element
