Duplicate files problem...any software recommendations ?
#1
I need a software that would find duplicate pictures  on my backup drive
the ones I am finding need exact duplicates=same file name.
while plenty of duplicates are copies of the same photo but with a different file name.
for instance a photo on the memory card is called img-0001.jpg, I download it today and rename it, then download it another time while renaming it something else or even keep same original name....
Any recommendations ?

I use dupeguru ( https://dupeguru.voltaicideas.net/ ) , but i haven't understood exactly what you want to do.

Some others:

Have you tried Norton Commander yet?
I have used it in the past for similar operations, just that I have no idea if the current version works the same as the older, DOS-shell based one.

It has, or used to have, a bit of a learning curve, but it worked very well indeed. There is a free version, and a paid for verson (30 euros). Here is a link: https://www.winnc.com/

HTH, kind regards, Wim
