Great! Can't wait... Optical Limits feels like rock concert now, reviews are coming one after another.

It looks like a great lens, but also in this case a bit below what one could expect given the rumours. It's only 1:2 macro, not 1:1; just a tad lighter and shorter (15%, not “one third” as rumours said); and while it's more compact, if I understand well it loses internal focusing.

let's see what Sony can do, already Canon 70-200f4 is as sharp as can be, was on the verge of buying then said won't buy a lens just because it's sharp: too slow for portraits, too short for birds , I got 70-300 IS instead ....

Excellent review from Christopher Frost; he says the optical quality has been improved over the old version, being sharper at the long end.
