Bad corners at f/1.4 at least

Most f/1.4 lenses are like this anyway... Unless they have the "Art" or "Otus" bits in their names
And few QC issues. O_o

Too bad is for Sony mount only.
In terms of size and weight is not much different from Sigma's offering.

Quote:Bad corners at f/1.4 at leastBut very flat and even for most of the frame. I think it is a design choice. The classical Planars of the 50 and 85 variety for CYMM looked quite similar. A 1.4 is not a reproduction lens.
If the price is right and AF performance decent (compared to other system options) this could fly.

$700 ... brave ...
Honestly I would go for the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 OSS in this case.

The lens (Samyang) isn't overly sharp (to put it mildly) wide open, but it does render nicely (smooth bokeh). And it has very strong LoCA.
