Nothing new, after such a long time: the former is good, but not worth the (original) price tag; the latter can compete in some areas, but has lots of geometric distortion.

Well, it is Sony...

Well, it is DXO... (I'm not not putting any trust in their lens test findings)

The Zeiss 55mm has scored 15mp vs 8mp for the Zeiss 16-70mm - on the NEX7/A6000.

Says it all I think. Not sure where they see balance here.

DXO  scored the EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM II the same as the EF 70-200mm f2.8 L IS USM. DXO mark scores the EF 16-35mm f4 L IS USM not better than the EF 17-40mm f4 L USM. DXO mark scores the EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM II very high wide open and worse stopped down.

Says all about their reliability I think.

And I am surprised that their i-Lego-block didn't score better tha Sony a7
