WOW!

Not so wow, that it is better than the Nikon... The not super Canon 70-300 IS is also a bit better, and the Sony 70-300mm is better.

More a "good job, Tamron!" than a "wow", in my opinion. <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

Thanks Markus,

I have one question. Can you share your experience with this lens in panning mode?

Greetings,

Miro

PS: I know that this is tricky question. The top photographers advice to check for yourself what works best for you – with or without IS/VR/VC. While VC can help AF in some panning situation VC/IS/VR can work against you.

My experience with this lens is that VC on panning mode doesn’t give any advantage. The percentage of keepers with and without VC is the same. I’m beginner BIF photographer. Razor sharp BIF at 1/15sec with 500mm lens is far…far above my achievement. :-)

It's not often when a 3rd party lens is better than OEM, even if the difference is not a big one.

So many reviews recently. Are you working full time for Photozone now?

There's another "recent" Tamron lens that PZ didn't review: AF 55-200 F/4-5.6. Is it in the pipeline?

Not at the moment. Is it still a current lens?

Sorry, miro, for now I can't. I have not had the chance to use the lens in such a way extensively. Maybe I can add that information at a later date, at least for some time I will keep the lens for myself.
