I checked with foto-tip.pl, they say the Pentax-version, as with my Samyang 85mm 1.4, has automatic aperture (the A-setting on the aperture ring). [color="#0000ff"]Maybe it's because of the pin that sticks out and controls the aperture on K-mount lenses, no electronics needed maybe?

I'll be buying this lens when it gets dark at night here and I again can see the stars <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Exactly, mechanical coupling.

I am not sure whether it will therefore work well with the camera when it comes to metering. Something worthwhile investigating, however, because that would make life a lot easier already.

As Klaus says, however, you may find it not wide enough on APS-C.

Kind regards, Wim
