This is pretty much exactly what I hoped for! I haven't compared specifically to other systems, but wont this have potentially the "best" AF tracking system on any APS-C camera? Maybe even giving "pro" bodies a run for their money too. Of course we'll have to wait and see how it will really perform in the real world, not just on paper.
The only minor disappointment may be the apparent absence of the rumoured f/8 AF, but to me that's only a nice to have, not a necessity.

Having had a little time to see the reaction elsewhere, it looks like Canon have got one target area sold: wildlife photographers.
I still need to catch up on all the details since I only had quick looks from work before
