Panasonic GH2 reviewed - pretty good - Guest - 03-24-2011 http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/PanasonicDMCGH2/ Looks like a great addition to the m4/3 world. Lens choices (for AF addicts) are still somewhat limited but the sensor and the EVF seem to represent real breakthrough achievements for this format. Panasonic GH2 reviewed - pretty good - Yakim - 03-24-2011 Looks really impressive. If I'd buy a small camera today that would be my pick. That is, assuming I could find one for sale.... The only things they've to fix is their marketing (it's basically non-existing it seems) as well as product design (ugly as hell).
Why would they need better marketing, if they can't satiesfy the demand which they face at present? Considering the design, I think many of the recent Lumix system cameras (G1, G2, GH1, GH2 and also the proper 43rd L10) borough from the Leica R4 - R7 line. Sure if you don't like it you don't like it. There is nothing to argue. The GF series looks a bit like the Leica R4 to R7, yes.
If you look at: http://www.l-camera-forum.com/leica-wiki.de/images/7/79/R4s-bl-front.jpg and http://a.img-dpreview.com/reviews/PanasonicDMCG1/images/3qtr.jpg in particular the finder part. To me the curved section look quite similar and it is distinct from anything else I know. Obviously that is missing from the GF1, so I don't know how you want to argue a resemblance between the GF and the Leica R4. |
