Bad corners at f/1.4 at least

Most f/1.4 lenses are like this anyway... Unless they have the "Art" or "Otus" bits in their names Sad

Let's hope it has a nice bokeh at least

Too bad is for Sony mount only.

In terms of size and weight is not much different from Sigma's offering.

But very flat and even for most of the frame.  I think it is a design choice.  The classical Planars of the 50 and 85 variety for CYMM looked quite similar.  A 1.4 is not a reproduction lens.

If the price is right and AF performance decent (compared to other system options) this could fly.

If you look at it, they used the possibilities of the mirrorless system in the lens design.  Very short distance from rear element to sensor.

$700 ... brave ...

Honestly I would go for the Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 OSS in this case.

The lens (Samyang) isn't overly sharp (to put it mildly) wide open, but it does render nicely (smooth bokeh). And it has very  strong LoCA.
