I think Canon would do very well with an EF-S 50-135/2.8 IS USM. Ditto for Nikon. These would sell like hotcakes IMO if they're reasonably priced. I think Canon and Nikon are missing out on potential sales by not having these in their line-up.
I've got a Tokina 50-135/2.8 which I enjoy very much. But the AF is an exercise in frustration. USM and IS would add a lot more user friendliness.
