Because the "curve" does odd things at the ISO 800 point. Without that it still is better than the 5D mk III.



About DR: I can not agree with what you write. I always PP images, My camera has a lower PDR than any of the discussed cameras. Yet I always, without exception, limit the DR. I have room enough still for whatever PP I do. Like I said... enough is enough, and contrasty photos are just attractive. Again, print gives a DR of about 5 stops.

I would like a higher DR from my camera from ISO 400 up, especially from ISO 800 up, but cameras like the D3s and 5D mk III already give that in abundance.



About the lenses... it is not (just) about the lenses I own. It is about the lenses I will want, too. It is not the inconvenience of having to buy new lenses, but many lenses I want only happen to have EF mount.

Only 2 lenses I have now would be "missed": my 70-200mm f4 L USM and my 35mm f2.

Lenses I will want which are for EF-mount include the 135mm f2 L USM, 200mm f2.8 L USM II, 400mm f5.6 L USM, TS-E 24mm, 300mm f4 L IS USM or 70-300mm L IS USM, 24mm f2.8, 50mm f1 L USM.

Lenses that I will want that would be also available with F-mount would be 180mm f3.5 macro (Tamron), standard zoom f4, Voigtlander 20mm f3.5 SL II, 50mm f1.4.



Just on the side, my Nikon lenses do fit on my Canon body <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /> .
