Canon 11-24/4 becomes real

I thought this would be fun when the first rumours kicked off, but now with the rumoured price... it is a lot less interesting. It would have been nice to have a wide rectilinear for crop, and ultra mega hyper wide on full frame in one lens.

 

Sticking to Canon lenses, I have to wonder if de-fishing the fisheye zoom would be "good enough" at a much lower cost? The Sigma 12-24 is even cheaper. Of course I'm just comparing field of view here.
