Bleh must be the 135 that is apo; purple fringing is distracting.

Purple fringing is a term used for something different than chromatic aberration. Because often lenses have LoCA of the green and magenta variety, people mistakenly tend to refer to LoCA as "purple fringing (due to the magenta). Even lateral CA of the green + magenta variety mistakenly gets to be called purple fringing, by some, because they see magenta edges.

 

Usually LoCA is not a problem in images. If you happen to have an image where it shows up, it is super easily dealt with in post processing.

 

Why I find the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 attractive is for something that is NOT easily dealt with in post processing. The bokeh of the Zeiss has a smooth and wooly character, which I find attractive.

 

The Zeiss 135mm f2 is called "APO" by Zeiss, but it still will show a bit of LoCA (yes, of the green and purple kind) when one goes to look for it.
