Lensrentals had a play with the adapter... and I'm glad to say it looks like my pessimism was wrong and the adapter largely does what it promises!
The application is still rather niche to me. Thinking of scenarios of why *I* might want one, I can only think of one: to have focus peaking while using MF full frames lenses giving a full frame style output.
