i finally found a solution for my problem:
my installed Windows version is Windows 7N 64bit, which lacks the media player and some other related functionality. after the installation of the Windows Media-Format Feature Pack (KB968211) everything works fine.
picture download and remote shooting work now, so the problem is not related with 32bit or 64bit but with the media player free versions Windows 7 N and KN
