Dear Zoners,

Lately, I get the feeling that these fora have been welcoming more and more people with scientific backgrounds. People who are able to interpret, analyze & discuss things on a rather advanced level. I think it's greatly enriching and many of us who have been following this site for years have seen their knowledge constantly stimulated and challenged in the course. After all, PZ has always been a gear oriented site.

All for the best then ?

Not quite if people with less technical knowledge start to receive pedantic answers or sarcasms as they post less educated questions or assumptions. I don't feel it happened so much to me as I don't enter too technical debates but I'm still reading them and notice that. One might argue that "life is harsh, get along with it" but we have enough high profile posters here who are 100% humble and nice to prove this harshness (relatively speaking, of course, PZ still is very quiet) is unnecessary and counter productive.

So before typing rhetorical questions,"Uhmm's",etc.. please ask yourself if it's really necessary to get your message across. Or is it just me <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />?

Just my 2 cents,

S.
