You are confusing the smoothness of bokeh and the amount of blur. Of course, a 85mm lens gives way more blur. But is the blur smooth? Creamy?



No. The Canon 85mm f1.2 is quite smooth in its bokeh, but does not quite get there. The Samyang, is another story. The background bokeh of this lens is WAY more creamy/smooth than the others (Canon, Nikon, Sigma).



Same with the Zeiss 34mm f1.4, as far as the images I have seen can give a good impression. The Samyang has very busy bokeh, the Zeiss seems to have very smooth bokeh.
