Canon 11-24/4 becomes real
#1
Although I know I spoil this forum's chances of getting awarded as one forum with the longest silences, I put in a note that - finally, after years of suffering and expecting, Canon users now have the choice between two ultra wide zooms (and maybe soon three).

1 f-stop slower than the meanwhile veteran 14-24/2.8 for Nikon, they dare to make a 11-24/4 (!).

These 3 mm shorter FL and 1 f-stop less cost 1000$ more than Nikon's competition (with a decent adapter, a bit less than that. Congrats, Canon! 11mm is something really cool. Unfortuanetly, it's too obvious: A lot of people will complain about making Nikon's "mistake" with the bulbous front element and no filter thread.

Now, lets see if Sigma makes the rumor of a similar Art lens come true. And also, how Sigma deals with the filter challenge. Making an own adapter could be an idea, who knows?

Personally, I'm very interested if that Canon lens is as sensitive to side- and backlight as Nikkor is.
