Noise comparison between D800 DX crop mode vs. D7000
#1
Hi,

Does anyone know about this? Are the high ISO noise levels comparable?

Why would you want to???

And anyway, the D800's noise does not get worse or better in "dx" mode. So if for whatever reason you feel compelled to compare, just compare D800 FF images.

Hi BC,

I am a little free this week....which got me thinking, how do i compare my D5100 with my soon-to-be D800 crop mode...<img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

The metering can be different in DX mode so it is possible to get more noise or less noise.

Other than that the crop image is identical to the FX one in terms of sharpness and so on.
