NEX 7 vs NEX 5
#1
I just tested the Sony 30mm on the old NEX 5.

It's still a pretty crappy lens although not as bad as on the NEX 7 so I'm now sure that there's a negative border/corner effect on the 7. At max. aperture there even a higher absolute quality on the NEX 5 @ 14mp than on the NEX 7 @ 24mp.

Subjectively the 50/1.8 OSS doesn't seem to suffer as much but then it's shouldn't be as affected by the corner issues anyway.

#2
Klaus do you have the 50/1.8 OSS?

The effect it's only at extreme corner or not?
#3
Good news! ;-) So I will wait for an update, maybe next year, maybe longer.

Because of this fact the D400 could be deferred.

Yes, I have the 50 OSS here.

The corners look better on the 7 here but that's only an observation at 100% mag on the display.

I'm pretty sure 50 f1,8 oss it's good on the nex-7 corner because of this

I've download and developed this raw from here, no sharpenig but lightroom default setting

What I want to know is if the corner effect of nex-7 it's visible only in the extreme corner or also for example in 2/3 of the frame or similar

Thank you klaus and I'm waiting for your 50 oss review here.

IR in their M9 review, used 30mm on Nex-7 in their comparison against M9 (using Summilux-M 50mm f/1.4)

Can you post all full-size images that you have taken with Nex-7 so far?

....i like the way the 9's average price over there is $7920.99 - as if a cent makes a difference....must be precise though(although not so sure about that, looking further)...

....might i recommend that mst tests his 800 with only the best nikkors to avoid catching k's migraine

Sorry to disappoint, but the D800 isn't even remotely tempting <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

....24mp's are plenty for me :-) ..... sad though - a friend of mine would have been hoping that the first test might have been with the 70-300 @ f/8 (the only f/stop he uses with this lens)

.....and hmmmmm - said before, say it again - i rather liked Pz's camera tests, although it is possible to understand why you lot may not have cameras offered up for.... testing :-) ....still in any case, passing comments on acquisitions can often be enough - ta
