Just a quick note - I got 700 frames from the first battery load on the NEX 7 (basically no flash usage though). Quite impressive actually.
So far I've only one issue with the camera - AF in low light. Compared to the GH-2 it is pretty bad actually.
AF tracking doesn't seem to be close either.
With the LA-EA2 it feels as responsive as a DSLR and the AF is, of course, much better then.
But would it be your primary camera on your next trip (i.e, do you like the image quality and usability ) ?

I think Klaus would rather take the new Fuji X-Pro1. The Nex 7 looks like an ugly duckling in comparison. Personally, I could not see myself warming to the Sony.

The Fuji is adorable, that much is certain, but it remains to be seen if the operability is good - especially AF. And of course, a new mount and system, incompatible to anything else, is just what we needed, thanks Fuji! <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' /> At least you can use KM/Sony A mount lenses with NEX (and retain their full capabilities).

You really like this big, clunky retro design? ;-) Ok, I would't buy the Nex 7 because its to big. The Nex 5 is the maximal size for me, I really don't miss a viewfinder, only the Tri Navi on the Nex 5 with a improved peaking mode would be nice. For my taste peaking is much better than AF, there is so much more concentration on the scene. In the end I don't care about the look of the camera but how people react. And in my opinion people are feeling much more pleasant with smaller cameras.

I would require the 14/2.8 or at least the reassurance that something like the Heliar 12mm f/5.6 works fine via adapter.
"28mm" just don't cut it for me at this stage.

Did you ever try the 16mm f2.8 with the 0.75 converter? In combination with the NEX-5n it makes a fine wide angle. I mostly use it for ultra wide stitching, where I do not need the extreme corners, that probably influences my enthusiasm. The 16mm, with and without converter, is very nice for stitching, since it is apparently a true rectilinear wide angle. Some wide zoom do not stitch very well.
