No harsh bokeh test <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

And the diamond bee is not sharp

And I think I can see some moiré in the sample #4 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Huh' />

On the other hand, from the press release:

"The knurled finish on the sides of the dials feature rows of minutely milled squared pyramids for superb grip and confidence" - this alone should offset any flaws in the optics <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Well the 35f1.4 @f1.4 is either not super sharp or was a bit front focused; but at f8 it looks good to me <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Though on all of markus test my comments were rather off the mark when it came to test scores <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' />

I hear the ones saying the samples are not quite satisfactory... I hope this spectacular concept (new color filter -no AA filter-, compact IL system, future M lens compatibility, hybrid VF) will not be ruined by some average lenses...

The flower shot looks quite Ok to me.

Thanks for the link, Klauss

Same sentiments as previous posters... not particularly blown away. I was hoping to see pixal sharpness rivaling that of Sigma SD1/9/10/14... didn't happen.

Frankly this is mostly a matter of post processing. These images are so clean that I'd guess that no sharpening at all was applied. And they look like straight JPEGs to me.

We'll see ...

As I think I mentioned in another thread, this is with their new colour filter arrangement so it'll be interesting to see how that works out in more situations. And if it gives headaches to RAW software developers to get the most out of it. I'm kinda disappointed it has even less chroma coverage than bayer.

The micro site states that the new "advanced" image processing overcomes this challenging interpolation issue. But you know, computers don't like randomness <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />...

Anyway, I hope it works fine with the raw converters also... Because lacking AA filter part of the concept sounds exciting...
