Correction, it's not only a concept, but already implemented <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />... But I'm with you when you say that it's still not tested by the end user...
And concerning the Adobe support: Yes, Adobe supports my D700, but I never got the good results as I get from the NX2. As long as fuji supports with a specific raw converter (which can be hopefully more user friendly than NX2 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />), I don't see a problem here.
