Nikon AF-S 50mm f/1.8G
#1
It seems as if without any further announcement (so far) Nikon has updated its entry level normal prime:

saw it, if bokeh is better than 1,8D and shaprness is at least the same it will be a bargain for around 250-260 EUR i guess...
#3
Hopefully a lot lower. 250 EUR would be too close to the AF-S 50/1.4, 150 to 180 EUR sounds more like a fair deal.

Definitely interested myself, just sold the Sigma 50/1.4 <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

I guess there will be some sort of official announcement later. Since they assemble quite a few of their lenses (especially in the lower price segment) in China and Taiwan, it might come to market soon.

hopefully! the 35/1,8 DX is around 190, the new 50G will be more expensive i think.

anyway why did U sell the Sigma 50/1,4?

imho it has the best looking bokeh in the group, Markus Schwarze took many beautiful shots with it...

Hmm, they seem to have added an aspherical element, didn't notice before. I think the previous version hadn't. Will be interesting to compare the two side by side.

Rem: Users of Leica summicron 35/2 and summilux 35/1.4 for Leica M, could go on for ages how much "nicer" the image of the old spherical versions over the newer aspherical ones is. In that context "nicer" doesn't mean a better control of aberrations, actually quite often the opposite.

The story is a nice example of "the internet never forgets". Though in principle putting this on your website must constitute copyright infringement. Something every German is very clued about these days. Did I hear someone whisper "PhD thesis" <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />
