I'm sort of disappointed. I expected more from a 700EUR lens.

Could it be a bad copy? Is it free from decentering?
This lens looks like half filled glass. Well, quiet expensive one. Some people will enjoy colors and extensively look for rounded bokeh, others won't buy it. Story of DA 50 - 200 repeats? Anyway, it is for convenience, and +WR. But the price...

The centering quality is alright for such a lens. Such a complex lens is never really perfect, of course.
The field curvature at 18mm is an issue and the borders/corners at 135mm are just soso.
This would be Ok ... if the price tag was lower.

What's so frustrating is that the lens is priced 500 USD in the States which would make it 365 euros! Almost half price!
In this case, do you think it would be worth 365?

Well, the local price is inc. all taxes. Anyway, 365EUR may be (just) fair regarding the optical performance. The mechanical implementation is better though.
The Leica 14-150mm remains king in this class by quite a margin.

The king is dead (out of production).

Is the Pentax 18-135 any better than the Sigma HSM 18-125 (3,8-5,6)? The Sigma is a bargain with arround 260 €. Not a bad lens at all in my opinion.
