An amusing (IMO) article for Klaus and Markus......

...and other German-speaking friends here.

Just found it amusing with a touch of English xenophobia and British breast-beating. No offence intended (or taken I hope).

Happy New Year everyone.

Well, a media like dailymail should take more care

with proper writting ... a lot of mistakes in what they

think are german words.

Their conclusion is correct ... their writting is ...

well ... very british.

Just my 2cts ... Rainer

I thought it had some humor in it, as did my German wife. But, coming from an American who is in the process of learning German, I felt that some of the attempted humor was lost due to the ignorance the writer has of the German language. If you want to read something along these lines that is funnier (IMHO), read "The Awful German Language" by Mark Twain You can read it for free here: http://www.crossmyt.com/hc/linghebr/awfgrmlg.html#x1

Well, I don't think that the article could manage to be amusing at all and I think it's a bit too thick... It includes bombastic expressions to catch the eye of the readers but mostly includes nonesense. You can't just concatenate the words in German like that to come up to a notation or meaning...

Actually I can't help myself thinking: what would happen if the traffic signs in London include words in a language other than English?
