The K5 does not use Sony SSS. It is pretty well possible that the Pentax IS mechanism produces less heat, it is sure that the Pentax IS is less effective. The Olympus cameras do not use Sony SSS, and they have smaller sensors. Canon and Nikon do not use in camera IS.



It is very clear that the biggest problem with the A55/33 is the SSS in combination with its live view. The mirror preventing the camera to cool via the lens is just a part of it.
