Nokton µFT 25/0.95 samples
#1
Hi,

There are a couple of samples (various apertures incl. 0.95) taken with an E-P2 at http://ganref.jp/magazines/index/1/0/378

One can get the 12MP originals. Looks pretty impressive to me. What do you think?

Agreed. Far beyond my expectations.

This shows the strength of a dedicated design.

(FWIW, I'm surprised that Cosina did design it for 4/3 and not APS-C in order to cover the other formats)

Cosina/Voigtländer have a strong connection with the rangefinder community. If you look at them (e.g. http://www.rangefinderforum.com) it is Leica M9, µFT and lots of 35mm film <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Also if you want a proper standard lens (RF people care about this) on µFT it would be a wide on APS-C. A 38mm equivalent on APS-C with speed 0.95 would be a sensation. It seems this case you can't really have one serving both. I think there is just a lot more music in µFT at this point in time than in the Samsung and Sony alternatives.

Have you seen http://photo1.ganref...cosina_01_l.jpg ? This lens isn't even bucket sized!

Sure, but having used the NEX with lots of Leica M lenses I'd say that it is THE "poor man's Leica" actually. These combos handle like a breeze.

Thanks Joachim, nice link.

The doll picture is quite good, showing moderate softness on the borders at f/0.95, relatively speaking. The bottle shot shows a weird wavy bokeh, but not awful.

Looks very usable at max aperture, very convincing <img src='http://forum.photozone.de/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />.Really looking forward to see more of such products.

ps:Currently sells at 75,265.00 JPY on amazon.co.jp (694.121 EUR), out of my budget before some time in 2011 I guess.

We've a good connection to a local distributor for Cosina now so I reckon that we'll be able to test it very soon.

I'm not sure; in the doll picture the contrast is quite low; resolution looks ok and there is a bit of ca. I guess the thing that bothers me the most is lack of contrast/colour but perhaps te picture was under exposed??

The in focus one is in the shade so that wont help. The ones in the background appear much brighter to me.

Overall the samples look ok to me, but not "wow". Is that front filter flare in the ship pic?
