I don't understand what it is. Can you make a phone call or not?

I guess it is an Android phone, although I have not seen it mentioned. An Android phone with uncomfortable annoying camera protrusion. And "DSLR functionality", apparently.

That webpage is the dark side of modern marketing. Content without useful information.

I'm also assuming it is an android cameraphone, thicker to accommodate better optics and whatever else. Like all things we need more info on what it is and does, at what cost.

On the PZ facebook post on the same, it was asked why don't CaNikon do similar? I'd suspect in part because they'd have to partner with a phone manufacturer with all the problems that will bring, and the ROI would not be sufficient to justify it in their business model. This isn't a question of could they do it, but should they?

dA Canon 7D2, 7D, 5D2, 600D, 450D, 300D IR modified, 1D, EF-S 10-18, 15-85, EF 35/2, 85/1.8, 135/2, 70-300L, 100-400L, MP-E65, Zeiss 2/50, Sigma 150 macro, 120-300/2.8, Samyang 8mm fisheye, Olympus E-P1, Panasonic 20/1.7, Sony HX9V, Fuji X100.

Smartphones are commodities these days. CaNikon could just ask Foxconn to design something and they would just supply some (hopefully not so crappy) optics for it.

This would also open up a obvious upgrade path to their digital cameras.

Haha.. I wonder if the guy writing that headline even knows what a range finder camera is.

1/2.4" sensor ... yeah ... that's not a camera in my book but a noise generator.

I prefer Ektar.

I am an apple guy, so not good for me.

However, daughter prefers Android. I can hardly wait to explain to her how to get the most out of the so called Bokeh button. Tongue
